Including Samuel

The Arc of Larimer County to Host Screenings of Including Samuel in honor of National Intellectual and Developmental Disability Awareness Month

In March, The Arc of Larimer County is sponsoring two screenings of Including Samuel, the award-winning documentary by photojournalist Dan Habib. The first screening will be held at the Berthoud Public Library on Monday March 9th at 6:00 pm. The second screening will be held at the Fort Collins Harmony Library on March 22 at 7 pm.


Before his son Samuel was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, photojournalist Dan Habib rarely thought about the inclusion of people with disabilities. Now he thinks about inclusion every day. Shot and produced over four years, Habib's award-winning documentary film, Including Samuel, honestly chronicles the Habib family's efforts to include Samuel in every facet of their lives. The film also features four other families with varied inclusion experiences, plus interviews with dozens of teachers, young people, parents and disability rights experts.

Including Samuel is a highly personal, passionately photographed film that captures the cultural and systemic barriers to inclusion. The film will be followed by a discussion on Inclusion and a ways that you can take action.

Please join us for our Applebees Flapjack Fundraiser! Enjoy a delicious meal of pancakes, sausage, eggs, and beverages, for just $5 in advance ($6 at the door).

We are also looking for 10-12 volunteers (no age restriction) to help out with serving, refilling beverages, bussing and/or clean-up, as well as 3-5 adults to help with dishwashing and handling money.

Show Your support on Tuesday, March 23rd -- and Save The Date for the third Tuesday of the month thereafter.

Famous Dave's will proudly donate 10% of net sales for all receipts attached to an event flyer deposited in the lobby receptacle between 5:00pm and 10:00pm.
