About the Arc of Larimer County

The Arc of Larimer County, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the advocacy of all individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers. Established in 2007, The Arc of Larimer County advocates for all individuals who have developmental disabilities to have opportunities and choices for inclusion and involvement in all aspects of life within our communities.

The Arc of Larimer County joins 1,300 other state and local chapters of the Arc of The United States with 160,000 members nationwide working together towards high quality services, education, prevention, research, technology and encouraging progressive legislation and policy.

Vision Statement

Our vision is that People with developmental disabilities in Larimer County make their own life choices and that their voices will be heard and respected. Individuals with developmental disabilities are included in every aspect of community life as respected, contributing, successful, and equal community members. The vision of The Arc of Larimer County includes; choices for paid community employment, supported inclusive education, community wide social and recreational activities, religious or spiritual community involvement and community living.

All individuals are entitled to full participation in integrated work within their communities, thereby providing them with choices and opportunities for:

  • Gainful employment

  • Greater economic independence

  • Less dependence on governmental assistance

  • Gain respect, dignity and self-esteem

All individuals are entitled to develop a sense of ones self and values. Education enables individuals to participate fully in all aspects of life within their communities.

Employment and education are integral components of a range of experiences and relationships that contribute to an individual’s happiness and success.

All individuals are entitled to full participation in community-based services providing them with choices and opportunities for:

  • Integrated recreation

  • Quality medical services

  • Occupational, physical and speech therapies

  • Religious activities

Living options provide individuals with:

  • Opportunities to develop and exercise choices in their living environments

  • Opportunities to develop relationships with family members and friends

  • Opportunities to gain dignity, respect and self-esteem

The Arc of Larimer County, Inc. shall serve as a catalyst for change and support innovative approaches to best support Larimer County’s citizens with developmental disabilities and their families.
